This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a bilingual teacher at a middle school on the southwest side of Chicago where 96% of the student body is Hispanic and 98% of the students are low income. All my students are English language learners, and many of them are also diverse learners.

Every day they show up to class ready to practice their English language skills and are eager to learn more.

And every day, I try to find new and creative ways to engage them and enhance their learning.

My Project

Classroom supplies like looseleaf paper, multi-colored paper, pens, expo markers, and index cards will help my students succeed in school because they will have the necessary materials they need to complete their work and succeed. My students will use these supplies daily for the entire school year and in all their classes. Having these supplies on hand will save precious time that we need to focus on our academic work.

Paper, pens, index cards, expo markers and the many other supplies will make a great improvement to my students' daily life.

They will be able to focus on academics and learning and not on worrying about whether or not they have their necessary supplies.

These supplies will help us be ready to conquer any academic task given to us.
