it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The most basic supply a student needs in a science classroom is a pencil. Unfortunately, many of my students come to class each day without one. Some are too shy or embarrassed to ask for one, so they end up sitting at their desk until I notice. This wastes valuable time that could be spent on learning.
My students are incredible, but many of them do not have the funds to purchase their learning materials.
I want to make sure every single student who enters my classroom feels welcome, supported, and has access to everything they need to succeed.
With your donation, I will be able to make sure students always have the option to borrow a pencil to fully engage in labs, investigations, and other field work we may be doing in class. This will eliminate wasted time and stress they might feel when they are not prepared. It will allow every student to always be prepared to collect and analyze data, and be more prepared to take on the role of a scientist in the future.
As small as a pencil might seem, it will truly make a huge difference in the lives of many students as they are beginning to discover what makes science such a special subject! Much like a tiny seed that grows, a simple pencil might be the small difference that inspires some students to grow to love science in the future!
