Pencils Please!

Help me give my students pencils, colored pencils and glue they need to learn in our classroom.

My Students

As a class in a low-income/high-poverty school district, my students are faced with numerous challenges both in and out of the classroom. In spite of the challenges they face. My students come to school hungry and ready to learn and grow. It is my goal as a teacher to provide each student that enters my classroom with meaningful learning experiences.

They love to move, they love to talk, and love lots of positive attention.

Many students live in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things can keep them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with certain life experiences. In my classroom, I focus on their potential and try to give them the best opportunities to succeed. I may not be able to control what happens outside my classroom, however, I can certainly control what happens inside my classroom. By creating a positive and creative learning environment, I hope to inspire every student to continued success.

My Project

Students use pencils daily in my classroom. My students love having fresh pencils to use to write down their amazing ideas. We use pencils for everything in our classroom. My class can go through so many pencils with the hard work my students put in every day.

Colored pencils are also something that we use in our classroom every day.

Sharpening pencils constantly and pencils accidentally breaking have caused a pencil shortage in our classroom. Having a new pencils keep the students' on task and learning, and each student will be able to have their own set of colored pencils, and regular pencils to use!
