Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students face different challenges everyday in their lives. These challenges are so different from when I was growing up. They don't worry about school supplies (which is sad) they worry about a safe place (school). So each year I spend my own money and buy as many school supplies for them.

I am a 3rd grade special education teacher in a low socio-economic, high-needs district.

I spend my own money to supply my students with supplies, materials, and books. I teach every subject and have my students all day so it takes a lot to motivate them to learn. Most of my students do not have all of their supplies for the entire year. Some come from single parent households. I purchase everything or replenish their supplies during the year. Every year I need to replace the materials so each class starts with new materials.
I need materials for my classroom to have it run smoothly.

My Project

The first thing is if the students always had pencils and a sharpener they would be at ease not to worry if they have their materials for class. That is why if you provide them with their own pencils they will have one more less thing to worry about. Some and most of these students have enough to worry about; they sometimes have bigger problems than me.

I wish and hope you support our project.

My students will be so appreciated for any donation they get!!! I can already see their faces when I tell them it has been fulfilled. I will show you with a photo their BIG SMILES!! THANK-YOU for choosing us!!
