Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a public school in southern Florida. Our school is a Title I school, and the majority of the students receive a free or reduced-price lunch. Over 90% of the student population are classified as ESOL (ELL) students who are limited English speakers. Our school is also over 90% Hispanic; however, we do have some students from other countries. They all show the same joy of learning and enthusiasm.

I teach fourth & fifth grade gifted students.

My biggest challenge is to keep up with their motivation and active imaginations. These students have a huge background of knowledge and are always looking for more. Their excitement is contagious. I am always looking for new educational books, kits, games, ideas, and projects that will strengthen their skills and encourage their love for learning.

My Project

The Student Desk Tray Organizer will help my students keep their pencils, highlighter, erasers, and markers in place. My students' pencils are always rolling on floor. My students can benefit from these trays so that they always have their red pens ready to check their work. I spend many wasted minutes waiting for students to find a pencil or a red pen to check their work. I am always trying to find ways to keep the class going and make use of every minute of instruction. This item will organize my students.
