My students need basic school supplies to start back to school. They need crayons, pencils, construction paper and Elmer's glue sticks to get their first year in school started off right!

My Students
My students love to come to school, where for some of them it's the only place they feel safe and loved. I love teaching them and they are not without their challenges. So many of them have lived a life I could never imagine. Their eagerness and enthusiasm to learn make me strive to find a variety of programs and materials to enhance the curriculum so they can enjoy learning so much more. My students come with a variety of skill levels since some this is their first experience with school and they lack the basic foundation to move forward with their education.
My Project
When I was growing up one of my favorite things to do was to go shopping for new schools supplies. There's no greater joy than opening a new box of crayons and putting them to work on a crisp piece of construction paper.
Many of my students don’t get the opportunity to go shopping for school supplies and they arrive to school with very little.
My students need basic school supplies such as Elmers glue sticks, Dixon- Ticonderoga pencils, Lakeshore crayons, Crayola Markers and Pacon Saxon construction paper. I like to give my students lots of hands on activities. We do a lot of work with interactive notebooks which required a lot of cutting and pasting. So the Elmer's glue and Lakeshore scissors are a necessity in our daily activities. We will also being using our new school supplies to create holiday projects for our families.
My students love to be creative and these supplies will help keep the creativity flowing. We often run out of supplies in the middle of the new year making it very difficult to continue to be creative. My students' parents don’t have a lot of money and it makes it difficult for them to replenish supplies mid-year.
It would be good to keep our classroom well stocked so the class can continue to be creative for the entire year, and I would also like to have extra supplies on hand so students who are unable to have supplies when they come back to school may have them. Having school supplies in the classroom will allow my students to be more prepared for school and help build there confidence in learning. Every student deserves new school supplies and I don’t want my students to miss out on that joy.
