Help me give my students much-needed school supplies such as pencil pouches, sticky notes, hand sanitizer, and more to keep them safe and stop the spread of germs to further prevent Covid-19.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a place of discovery, academic achievement, and a space that promotes a love of knowledge. My scholars are fourth graders in an inner-city elementary school in the South Bronx.
My scholars are always questioning, and always looking for ways to gain insight and information on a multitude of topics.
I am always amazed at their sense of wonder and the excitement on their faces when they are about to tackle a new topic or concept.
They are extremely proud to share their work and ideas with the world and enjoy any opportunity to present what they've learned; it is an extreme pleasure to be their educator! Despite the poverty and challenges many in this area face, my scholars have found ways to rise above it all, and I want to provide them with all possible opportunities.
My Project
School supplies set scholars on a path for success, yet many of my students do not have these much-needed resources due to poverty, and families having to worry about more basic needs such as food, and shelter. With the current pandemic, many families are facing challenges and are unable to provide basics such as pencils, erasers, sticky notes, and pencil cases.
Help me provide my scholars with the basic needs to start the school year off right, with a personal pencil case filled with sticky notes, pencils, and erasers.
These resources will help keep them on track at home as well. They will be able to complete homework, and classwork since many are working remotely, or in a Hybrid Flipped classroom situation. The sanitizer wipes will help keep our classroom clean and germ-free to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 as we return to a new, but different school year.
