I teach First Grade at a Charter School in a very low income district of New York. My students work very hard and deserve to have the materials they need to learn.
Our First Graders do a lot of writing in our class, from solving math problems to writing stories. We do so much writing that we are quickly running out of the pencils we bought at the start of the school year. We are also having to make posters with worn-out markers, which makes it hard for students to see important information.
We need pencils for students to write with. This very basic necessity is crucial to every single part of our day. We need chart paper markers so that students are able to see directions and concepts on posters around the room. We also need Sharpie markers and pens to label supplies and give feedback.
Your help will enable our classroom to keep going! With these new writing implements, students will be able to continue their amazing work in every subject, especially writing.
