Our school is in a high risk area of the city. We are a Title I school and over 100% of our students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Our families struggle every day just to provide the basics for their children. Our school has a very high population of English Language Learners and many of our parents are also just beginning to learn English. Our school makes every effort to assist families with everything from food and clothing to supplies and transportation.
My students are eager to learn and grow to be the best that they can be.
These children just need a little extra attention to achieve during these unusual challenges we are facing during a pandemic. Providing them with opportunities to explore, collaborate, and learn is essential for their academic success.
My Project
As we head back to school amid uncertainty there is one thing we know for sure, kids will not be able to share school supplies. So I am requesting pencil pouches for our grade level, to allow students to be prepared to write in class. These pouches will save time and ensure students are not sharing germy pencils. The planner will be used to track classroom lessons and activities.
Classroom management and organization are intertwined.
While rules and routines influence student behavior, classroom organization is essential for productivity. The portable label maker will allow students to be held accountable for maintaining our learning environment.
