This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Most of my kiddos are from a low economic status so sometimes it's a little harder for them to get the basic necessities such as pencils, erasers and folders.
My students reside in one of the biggest states in the U S of A, Texas, and they're ready to learn!
My school's kiddos all get free breakfast, and 90% of them are eligible for free lunch. I want our students to not have to worry about not having their homework complete because they didn't have a pencil, or not be able to come to school because they got sick. I love that despite what my kiddos go through at home, they always are able to put a smile on their face for me when it's learning time!
My Project
My kiddos need these supplies basics to start the year off right! Folders, pencils, scissors, erasers, glue, markers, sticky notes and white boards are supplies that my kids use every day at school or virtually learning. Having not to worry about if you have a sharpened pencil or eraser every day could alleviate one of the many stressors that our students may have. I teach In Class Support and before I leave my office I sharpen six pencils. By the end of the day I would have given out all of my pencils to kiddos that have a broken lead when it's time to write or to students that just can't find their pencil that their teacher just gave them.
