Help me give my students a safe and welcoming place to spend their lunch break, where they can make new friends, de-stress, and improve their social skills!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of our students find themselves lost or lonely during lunch. Others find that they can't appropriately self-direct and get into trouble. These issues have increased since COVID began, due to a variety of factors- displacement, quarantine, inability to socialize, and a rise in mental illness, to name a few. My goal is to create a space were students can congregate, play games, find new friends, and improve their social skills both directly (through activities) and indirectly (through practice). Mentor peers may sometimes be recruited in order to help facilitate these goals.
