My Students

Children love to move and their learning is so much more enhanced when their brains are stimulated with exercise! What better way to ensure their learning success...by allowing them to move while they learn and pedal to success!

I work with students with special needs in grades kindergarten through fifth grade in the upstate of South Carolina.

My students vary in their individual needs, but all have the same desire to succeed and achieve to their fullest potential; they are bright, eager to learn, and hard-working. They struggle with basic academic,behavioral, and social skills but they all show great determination and perseverance in reaching their goals.

My Project

Research shows that exercise stimulates the brain. By providing under-desk pedals, my intent is to allow my students opportunities to move while they learn and to facilitate their learning by reducing fidgeting and off-task behaviors to promote their success in our classroom.

My students learn best when they can move, build, jump, sing, and experiment.

These under-desk exercisers will give them this opportunity when they are engaged in table-time instruction and independent academic stations. How excited they will be to now have an outlet for their physical energy that at times reduces their ability to focus, learn and remember each day!
