My Project
As a Title I Pre-K teacher, I’m always looking for ways to support my students' development through hands-on, meaningful play. Our playground is a key space where learning comes alive, and with your help, I hope to enhance it by adding two tricycles (including a two-seater), a set of traffic signs for dramatic play, and understanding rules/print.
These additions will promote essential skills like coordination, cooperation, balance, and gross motor development.
The two-seater tricycle encourages teamwork and turn-taking, while the traffic signs introduce early concepts of safety and community roles during imaginative play. The rocking horse supports balance and sensory input, which is crucial at this age.
My goal is to create a safe and stimulating outdoor space that fosters physical growth, social-emotional learning, and creativity. Many of my students don’t have access to outdoor toys or safe play areas at home, so our school yard is where many of them experience these kinds of learning opportunities for the first time. By expanding what we offer, I want to ensure every child gets to play, explore, and grow in a way that meets their developmental needs.
What makes my students special is their resilience, curiosity, and joy. They come from diverse backgrounds, many overcoming economic and language barriers, but every day they arrive eager to learn and connect. These resources would not just be equipment—they would be tools to help my students thrive, build confidence, and develop skills that last a lifetime.
