This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have been learning this month about the Earth and the changes that it has been going through because of human impact. We are now learning about how we can help reverse the effects humans have had on the Earth.
My students have made a pledge to try their very best to help save our planet Earth.
One way they want to help is by planting in our school garden. We have beds that we will weed out and replant in. Some of my students would like to take seeds home to plant at home, but most do not have the space for outdoor planting. So, what better way to start a garden indoors than to create our own terrariums. With your kind donation, each student will build their own recycled plastic bottle terrarium. Students will learn about the 3Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle, and how to care for their seeds. Pebbles, peat moss, and soil will help create the layers that will help keep their seeds moist. This will be a great Earth project for all!
