Peaceful Minds, Gentle Tools: A Sensory Sanctuary

Help me give my students a comfortable place to regulate their bodies by snuggling up in a hammock chair, holding a weighted stuffed animal, watching a calming aquarium, or playing with fun tactile sensory fabric and kinetic sand.

My Project

Our school is working to create a calming sensory space where students can regulate their emotions and feel safe. Many of my students experience sensory processing challenges, anxiety, or overstimulation during the school day. To support them, we’re hoping to add tools like a weighted stuffed animal for comfort, a hammock chair for gentle movement, tactile sequin material and kinetic sand for soothing touch, and a bubble light aquarium tube for visual relaxation. These tools will provide students with a peaceful place to reset, refocus, and return to learning ready and calm.
