Peaceful Minds: Building a Calming Counseling Corner

My Project

As a K-12 school counselor, I see students every day who are navigating big emotions, social challenges, and stressors that can impact their ability to learn and thrive. I’m creating a Counseling Corner—a calming, welcoming space where students can pause, breathe, and build skills to support their emotional well-being.

This project will help bring that vision to life by providing:

Book bundles focused on social-emotional learning (SEL) to encourage growth, empathy, and resilience.

SEL games and hands-on tools to make learning emotional regulation fun and engaging.

Alternative lighting such as soft lamps and sensory-friendly lights to create a soothing environment.

With your support, this space will give students a chance to reset, reflect, and return to the classroom feeling more focused and empowered. Thank you for helping me create a safe, supportive environment where students feel seen, heard, and cared for.
