My Project
The requested furniture and decor will contribute to my students' emotional health. My goal is to provide a safe space for students to decompress and regulate themselves when they are having large emotions that prevent them from being in the classroom.
My school is working very diligently with students to establish relationships and implement practices to help acknowledge and work through their feelings.
Through having a safe space, students have a place to step away from instruction when needed, work through their feelings so that they can return to the classroom more relaxed and open to learning.
The demographic of students that I serve comes to school with a lot of stress and emotional baggage. The least I can do is provide a space for them to unpack some of their feelings.
