My Project

Upon envisioning this space, I picture a calming place where students can come to de-escalate, reset, and acknowledge their feelings. Your contributions towards this project will help create a welcoming space at school, outside of their classrooms, where it is okay to feel an array of feelings; a place where they will feel supported as they work to regulate their feelings.

My goal is to grow this self-regulation space and expand on diverse manipulatives that I can provide students with based on their individual need and/or preference.

I hope to incorporate more sensory options (i.e. water/sand table, weighted objects, and other sensory toys) into this area.

These materials will map to CSDE ESSER priorities to help with learning acceleration and students social and emotional needs in the elementary classroom. Helping students get materials they need in their classroom to support all of their needs and especially supporting their mental health is a priority. Students who are being enriched will also benefit from using these resources in the elementary school classroom.
