My students need ease and quiet when moving chairs from their desks. Due to the age of our chairs many are missing the bottoms and scrape up our wooden floors.

My Students
My students love to read and always look forward to reading with me at our reading table. Unfortunately we never have enough chairs and students have to bring their own. With a set of Hokkie Stools that do not take up room we will not need to drag our chairs away from our desks.
My school is in a low-income area with a high ESOL population.
I specifically teach 2nd grade with ESOL students who are beginners, Special Ed students who don't know their alphabet, and Regular Ed students reading anywhere from Kindergarten levels to 3rd grade level.
My Project
My reading groups vary from day to day and my students are always having to disrupt others by dragging their chairs to the reading table. The use of the Hokkie Stools would allow my students to have fun and relax while working with me in a small group.
The "fun factor" of being able to sit on these stools will hopefully enable many students who may not want to do guided reading be willing to come and join the group.
The Hokkie Stools and chair socks will improve transition time during the crucial part of the day READING!
By quieting down the noise and preventing furniture movement I believe my students will enjoy reading more and look forward to it daily.
