This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am writing this essay on behalf of the JROTC program.
The purpose of the JROTC program is to motivate students to become better citizens, making them unique amongst their peers.
They get a sense of home and a greater sense of family. The JROTC cadets learn skills such as leadership, teamwork, and discipline. These are qualities that are necessary for them to succeed in any career.
Personal skills like health, nutrition, and financial management are also stressed. We want our students to be prepared for the future both mentally and physically. That is why we are requesting the sports equipment.
The new balls, pinnies, and flag belts will provide our students with the tools to improve their health, through fun physical activity. We want to change the mindset of our students to say “Physical Education (P.E.) ROCKS”, instead of “Oh no not P.E. again!” We want them to be motivated to push themselves to be more physically fit.
We want them to hold each other accountable regarding their physical health. With this new equipment, our students will have more opportunities to improve their physical health by doing fun sports activities. These sports activities also allow them to apply their leadership and teamwork skills.
We strive to make our students better citizens, by developing the skills they need to be successful in life. Encouraging them to maintain a healthy active lifestyle is one of these important skills. Thank you for your time and consideration regarding our request for sports equipment.
