My Project

Help get my students excited about PE! I have some amazing 8th grade students at Highland Lakes School in Glendale, AZ. I want to make sure I am able to expose my students to a multitude of physical activities and sports that they can use in adulthood to live a healthy lifestyle.

With the help of this project I am hoping to get new equipment that can expose my students to different ways of being active.

It is my belief that not all students need to be stud athletes to feel like they have a way to stay healthy and enjoy themselves while doing so. This new equipment would be used to show students that they can be active both in sports and through exercise in a multitude of ways. Equipment such as CanJam, tic tac toe, and giant Jenga will be used to introduce a new yard games unit. While equipment such as resistance bands and weights will be used to teach about muscle groups and exercises for each one. there are also some reward items such as Gatorade to provide prizes during tournaments in class. All to help motivate students in their learning of physical fitness.
