Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The equipment I am requesting is needed to help create a fun and engaging learning environment for students of all ages and abilities. The beach balls can help students learn to strike a ball and not be afraid of getting hurt. The beach balls give students confidence to learn a new skill and more time to react to the ball because it floats in the air longer. These beach balls with their fun colors and designs will engage students immediately in the lesson and activity which helps keep them moving and active. The frisbees are fun colors that will catch the eye of the students and introduce them to the world of disc sports which encompasses inclusion and spirit of the game.

My goals for this project are to introduce new skills and games to my students that will provide them with the opportunity to have social interactions while being physically active.

The beach balls can be used to teach volleyball and paddle/racquet skills with a high success rate and no fear of injury. The frisbees will introduce students to disc sports that include ultimate and disc golf.

My students are special because they are such a diverse group from different backgrounds and cultures that share a love for coming to PE and learning new things.
