Our P.E. equipment is old and broken! Imagine how excited my students will be to see three giant 4' parachute like geometric shapes, dodge ball with "safe" balls and jump ropes that are not broken. With this equipment my students will be on the move to better health and fitness!
My students are in kindergarten though fifth grade in Northern CA.
Some of my students love to be active and learn team sports but we are in need of equipment. Some are couch potatoes that just want to play video games, which I want to CHANGE! Currently, they are learning good health habits in eating and exercise. After working hard inside the classroom they just want to have fun. I want to show them how to have fun and exercise at the same time. Our school is small, but big on school pride and family involvement. We are a very low-income school.
My Project
My students will forget about video games for awhile and have fun participating in physical activity. Research shows increased physical activity increases classroom performance as well as better health. The giant parachute balls are 4' in diameter, and will be used for team sports where all students are active. The dodge balls on our shopping list make it possible to play dodge ball safely! No "Ouch". A game my students love but currently our balls are dangerous. The jump ropes will replace our pieced together ropes and used by all students during recess and P.E. My students lives will be changed because they will learn to enjoy being active and want to continue that. I am sure you will agree we need to get kids more active and become fit. You can help them have fun and be more fit at the same time.
With your help we can get these kids off their chairs and MOVING!
Imagine PE with balls that are not flat. Picture a grass field with three giant 4' parachute balls. Think of dodge ball with "safe" balls. With some new equipment my students will be on the move to better health and fitness! With your help we can provide some innovative ways to make exercise fun.
