This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have problems communicating there needs and wants. The computer gives them the ability to communicate using various programs on the computer. The computer also gives my students the ability to answer questions they are ask.
My students are special ed students ages 5-7 year old.
My students are from families who are low income and most of them do not have a computer at home. My students function academically between 2-4 years old. My students need a computer to help them improve in the areas of math, communication, reading. The only time for many of my students to use a computer is here at school.
My Project
My students are from low income families. The computer makes it easier for them to learn basic academic skills. Due to the fact that many of my students' parents can not afford a computer, the only opportunity they have to use them is here at school. The computers we have at school are very old and don't always work. Given the right equipment, my students can learn what they need to know to be successful in life. Please help my students get a computer that works all the time, so that they will be able to use the programs that help them communicate their needs and wants.

As many of my students are non-verbal, a computer is one of the ways they can communicate.
