My students need 2 mailboxes to learn how the mailing system operates and learn how to send letters to their peers in school. The mini post office is designed to teach students a variety of skills.

My Students
Hello to all. My dear students are the best. They don't come from the most elite neighborhoods in New York however, there are resourceful and resilient. They never give up on themselves. They push through difficult moments in their lives and continue to have smiles on their face. My student reside in Bronx NY.
My school uses P.B.I.S (positive behavior intervention system).
The program consist of 6 character traits we teach everyday at school. We want our kids to be able to get along with others and learn to solve problems in a productive way. Our program, though, allows students to write letters and work in an in school post office.
My Project
The purpose of the letter campaign is to get our students engaged in writing but also into expressing their feeling in (positive or negative) in a safe and creative way. We also want students to engage in authentic writing with our students. The school wide post office program will including writing but also a way to express their feeling in a safe concrete way that is monitored by school personal. The adults can teach the correct skill needed to express their feelings. The mailboxes will help promote literacy in my school. Each mailbox will be strategically locate around the build for students to send mail to each other.
Your donation will help Pk-5 graders, understand the importance of read and writing via a school wide postal program.
In the process, we hope students will improve their writing, expand their vocabularies and increase their feeling of belonging at school. This will unity my school community.
The material will encourage my students to write more and the importance of self expression. This may change their life. This project will get them thinking about their future and teach them life long skills they will need in the world of work. My students will have the opportunity to learn how to address letters and envelopes. The material will be use to replicate a real postal system which will give my students the opportunity to experience the world of work.
