My Project
Sound machines, calm lighting, coloring, and breathing exercises create a soothing environment that helps reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance emotional regulation, allowing students to be more engaged, resilient, and ready to learn effectively. A sound machine is helpful in therapy, as it creates a calming atmosphere, reduces background noise distractions, and promotes relaxation. It can help regulate emotions, lower anxiety, and improve focus, making it easier for individuals to engage in therapeutic conversations and mindfulness practices.
Coloring is helpful in therapy as it promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and enhances mindfulness by allowing individuals to focus on the present moment.
Squishy balls are helpful in therapy as they provide a simple, tactile way to relieve stress, reduce anxiety, and improve focus. Squeezing them helps release tension, regulate emotions, and enhance fine motor skills, making them a great tool for self-soothing and sensory support in therapeutic settings. Mood lights are helpful in therapy as they create a calming atmosphere, reduce stress, and support emotional regulation. Brain games are helpful in therapy as they enhance cognitive skills, improve focus, and promote problem-solving abilities. They can also reduce stress, boost memory, and build confidence, making them a valuable tool for emotional regulation and mental resilience. The goals of this project include providing a safe space for students to de-stress, reset, and regulate their emotions so that they can go back to class ready to learn. My students are special because they come from diverse backgrounds, often facing unique challenges due to socio-economic factors, but they also bring resilience, creativity, and a strong desire to succeed. These students benefit from additional resources and support aimed at closing achievement gaps, empowering them to reach their full potential academically and personally.
