Help me give my students sensory art supplies like magna tiles, rubbing plates, and sensory beads, to help with 2D learning of shapes for our Paul Klee Unit that reinforces the elements of art.
Students in grade K-2 will get a multi-sensory approach about the style and art of Paul Klee, a 20th century Swiss-German artist. They will be inspired by his famous painting, Castle and Sun. It’s the perfect unit to allow young artists to experiment, build, squeeze, feel, touch, create and imitate as the idea of making a city and community out of shapes, texture and colors in a hands on way to learn about 2D shapes. They will also learn about “abstraction” through painting, sculpting and building, drawing that will have a lifetime effect and be exhibited all over the world. Magnetic tiles will let them engage in a collaboration activity to make a 3d castle with colors and shapes. The texture plate will enable them to add depth to their sketches and feel like an architect.
