This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are bilingual students new to the country. They come from Spanish speaking countries. Their parents brought them here to have a better life than they could have had in their country. Education is the path that will lead them to that better life. My student's parents many didn't get the opportunity to have an education past the primary grades. Therefore as a teacher it is my responsibility to give them the best resources they can have to allow them to reach their full potential within the year and prepare them for the next.
My Project
The materials will make a difference in the students' learning because they will be able to work safely with their personal materials and will decrease concerns for the spread of germs. It will provide more flexibility because they can take their own supplies with them and move throughout the classroom. The students will learn responsibilities and since it is their personal container, they will be responsible for the care. The classroom will look very different moving forward and as teachers, we always find a way to adapt to make way for learning.
