This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a suburb of Los Angeles. My students have been online and out of the classroom since March 13th. They did not know this would be our last day for the school year.

My students are hard workers.

Thankfully, our district is one-to-one with technology, but there are other areas that I have noticed my students need support for distance learning.

My Project

I will be attending the Pathfinders Summer Institute to learn about Making and Coding for Social Good. This professional development focuses on using making and coding skills to solve real-world problems.

I teach at a STEAM school, and I want to learn as much as I can to further support my students' education in science and engineering.

This professional development will allow me to incorporate service learning into our STEAM experience. This helps to teach they why for creating, making, and coding. I am a first year teacher and I want to get all that I can to help me become great.
