'Pass the pencil, please' is the most popular phrase in our classroom! I am a first and second grade teacher in a classroom full of thriving, determined, and motivated writers. We are in a high need, low income community...but that hasn't stopped us!
The first thing my students ask me every day is whether or not we are having Writing Workshop today. I have given them an enthusiastic 'YES' every day. However, with very few supplies left, I am not sure I can give them the answer they are looking for much longer. We have no more pencils. The few we do have are eraserless and shared with neighbors every day. Furthermore, I have no more supplies left to teach my authors. The markers have dried out and the paper has run out!
Please help support our journey as aspiring authors! We have come so far, we just can't stop now! I don't want to lose their young enthusiasm and ambition. We need pencils, markers, and paper to continue writing.
Your generosity would provide us the opportunity to continue to thrive as authors and illustrators. Make it possible for the creativity to stay alive in our classroom and pass us a pencil, please!!
