This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to my classroom. I work in a high-needs community where my students are not exposed to art. They love to draw and produce work that they can take home to their families.
Since my students don't receive art instruction, I try to incorporate art into the classroom daily. The only obstacle that I have is that art supplies are very limited. I have very few markers and crayons. The scissors in my classroom are old, dull and/or broken. My students are not able to reach their creative outlet because of these obstacles.
Having these resources in my classroom will allow me to plan and execute more art activities. It will also help me to release the creativity of the mini Mozart's in my classroom. The students in this community also need an outlet through art to help display feelings which may not be easily heard.
You can help mold the young artists in my classroom. Help to expose them to the different genres of art by donating the art supplies that are missing in the classroom. The students would really enjoying having art incorporated into their daily learning.
