My Students

I work with 4th Grade students who have a wide range of abilities, talents, and strengths. I work in a Title 1 Elementary School in a high-need area. School for my students is a safe space, and I feel grateful to be able to be a mentor for them. My students come to school with a positive attitude each day, and show great motivation and desire to learn.

They inspire me with their own goals, and dreams.

I'm determined to help them in any way I can to set them up f

or success in their futures.

My Project

I am so excited to participate in USBE's partnership with Donors Choose. As a first-year teacher, in a Title 1 school, I have seen firsthand the difficulties students face in light of COVID-19. My students have needed a safe place to feel secure and comfortable. Many of the materials I have chosen provide an excellent way to get access to resources, that we have not been able to afford.

I am so happy that my classroom has become a gathering place for my students.

They come inside during their own lunch recess to spend time and play games in our classroom library. I've asked for beanbag chairs which will provide some comfortable seating for them in that area, as they take a needed break during the day.

My classroom is out in a portable, without a lot of storage or organization. The materials I've requested will help keep student materials organized, and tidy. The printer will help with needed materials to be provided to students efficiently without having to travel far from the classroom. I appreciate this opportunity and hope my classroom can benefit from these resources.
