Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

After a child has learned a concept in the classroom they need practice of those concepts in the home. I teach 20 four year- olds in an urban title one school. The school has a growing Spanish population.

Parents of my students need to have available resources to help their children practice skills learned at school. The take home packs with be available for parent check out to help their children successfully master skills. Parent involvement with their child's education is important for the child's success. Resources are not available to my parents who are from low to middle class families.

The 7 English and 7 Spanish take home packs include books and activities of skills taught in class from ABC's, counting, to colors. Both the English and Spanish take home packs will help my Hispanic and non Hispanic parents work with their child on skills they will need to go onto kindergarten. These packs will be checked out by the parents. The parent will read a story on a skill I just taught in class. They will then work with their child to complete activities on that skill. These packs will increase parent involvement with their child and the school. The resource will be available for the parent to be their child's first teacher and help them continue their child's success in school.

Your donation will bring family involvement into my classroom and help their child at home as well as in the classroom. You will be building a stronger family relationship with my students and myself.
