This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our schools, we created a program called HOPE – Helping Our Parenting-students Excel – to provide mentorship and support to high school students who are teen parents. Through local partnerships, our schools connect HOPE students with community resources like free diapers, clothing, formula, childcare and other necessities. However, these resources aren’t always readily available.
With your help, this project will allow us to keep some of the basic baby items on hand for our parenting students and their little ones.
Students can then study alongside their children and learn life skills, child development, health, food and nutrition and financial planning – all while working toward a high school diploma.
