Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a team of speech-language therapists working in a Title 1 District 75 school which educates students with disabilities and other developmental challenges. Along with my colleagues, I have set up an Instagram for the purpose of empowering and collaborating parents, other professionals, and students. Our main content involves capturing parent workshops to spread awareness and information regarding a variety of topics such as literacy, AAC use, and multilingualism. Currently, we are using our iPhones to capture these events. However, having a camera would allow our team to better image quality, take more photos, and increase our follower base.
Our goal for this project is to increase access for parents of students with disabilities and other developmental challenges.
We would use the camera to document various workshops, student successes, and parent connections and then post this content on our Instagram which you can find here: @Bronx_speech. We would like to connect the community with important resources and latest evidence-based practices to develop communication and life skills to maximize student growth and independence.
