This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am in an ICT Kindergarten classroom which has a mix of Special Education students and English Language Learners with General Education students. One method of effective co-teaching is Parallel Teaching where students are separated into 2 smaller groups for instruction. This allows for more individualized support. My co-teacher and I have found that while this method is amazing in supporting our students, many students become distracted with having the two groups.
Partitions allow us to minimize distractions to maximize learning time!
I am requesting some partitions and seating to help section out our room to support effective parallel teaching. The partitions allow us to block most visual distractions. The seat allows for differentiated seating options during instructional time. These materials would be a great addition to our classroom to help support our Special Education students!
