This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students attend a Title I school in a low income area and have been severally impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Many students did not have the drive or ability to safely exercise outside and develop their physique during their 2-3 year hiatus. My goal as a physical educator is to provide a fun way for students to exercise and move in order to build life-long healthy exercising habits so that my students can become, and remain, physically independent individuals.
The bean bags will help students learn hand-to-eye coordination that students are struggling with after not doing much physical activity for years.
The parachute will build teamwork and coordination between multiple people to accomplish a physical task and build muscles in the arms and legs.
The scooter boards will develop coordination between the arms and feet, specifically in relation to swimming, and also develop muscle mass.
