This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This class set of Octavia Butler's modern classic novel Parable of the Sower will provide my students with an engrossing novel that can help them find success in the classroom, but also provide them with a text that can help deepen their love for reading.
Additionally, the complementary graphic novel adaptation can provide readers at any level an additional pathway to engagement with a novel that has themes that can resonate with any student.
Year after year, my students surprise me with the content found in our classroom novels that engages them the most and this novel should prove to be no different.
