My Students
"Wow! This is so cool!" A teacher would not be a teacher if he/she does not want to hear that come from a student. For students who find school a challenge and/or a burden, a teacher needs a way to "hook" their interests.
I have 20 students in a rural public elementary school.
They have many interests including anything that is hands on. They also love to "be the teacher" by using materials that I typically use during a normal school day. These students also get excited when it's that time of day to learn something new and exciting because they are always wondering what cool thing they will learn about or do today.
My Project
I am requesting a class set of dry erase boards, markers and erasers. Having these items in my classroom will provide a variety of learning opportunities. I currently am blessed with an interactive white board in my classroom. It is a great instructional/learning tool, however, not all students are constantly "at the board." Having these white boards will allow all of them to constantly be engaged and actively participating with what's on the board while using their own dry erase board. This will save paper and allow my classroom to become one step closer to being a green classroom. It is my hope that one day my classroom is paper free. Dry erase boards can be used for many assessments, games and interactive learning. I cannot wait to have these resources available to my students.
