My students walk into our classroom every day excited for what is in store for them. I want them to know I believe in them, and they can be anything they want to be if they believe in hard work and determination. I also want them to feel loved and supported. I show my kids love every single day.
I teach at a Title I school in Staten Island NY.
One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Despite so many hardships, my students are determined to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can. They can be the president, a photographer, or an astronaut. They know the possibilities are endless and so do I. They may be third graders, but all I see is insurmountable potential in each face that I look at. I love my kids and want them to have everything they need in our classroom community.
My Project
Our school is truly a place where community is needed. We are supported daily by donations, and giving people that help our kids get what they need. We are consistently running out of copy paper due to high demand and an over-crowded school. My students need copy paper to ensure all of their resources are copied and printed when they need them.
Whether it be a cover page to publish our writing, or paper to copy homework sheets, we use copy paper every single day and we need more.
