This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Do you remember what it was like when you were in school? Do you remember what supplies you were required to have in class? The families in my classroom struggle to purchase most of the required materials needed for success in the classroom.
I am finishing up my 11th year as a kindergarten ICT teacher at my school at a low-income school in New York City.
They are a great group of kids who are extremely inquisitive and want to learn more. We spend most of our day on our rug either playing games, reading, or learning
In my school, we are required to supply our own copy paper for copies. Copy paper is used on a daily basis and is a vital part of our everyday learning. We use it so often and go through it so quickly.
This is the year that will shape a child's attitude about school and about learning.
Making it the most positive and nurturing experience is a way to insure that these children will continue to love learning and strive to do their best in school.
I have requested copy paper, lots and lots of copy paper to help get us through our year of learning!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
