Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a Title One School we are located in a low income neighborhood. They are eager to learn but lack the necessary supplies. School starts in August and parents struggle to purchase supplies or even uniforms.
My students are hungry not for food but for knowledge.
They come to school with hopes and dreams. I want to enchance there dreams by increasing there knowledge. Fifth grade is a crossroads for my students as they are on their way to middle school.
My Project
In 5th Grade Math we utilize the Interacting Math Journals. Where students paste notes, use foldables and write notes. I am asking for basic supplies for the classroom. Items we use on a daily basis. Such as copy paper to run copies, cardstock paper, pencils, tape, and duck tape.
The clipboards are going to use when Math activities take us outside.
The write and wipe boards can be utilize in several concepts such graphing in a coordinate plane or using a number line. The duck tape is use to protect our journals from falling apart and to color coordinate my three classes
