My students need paper. Paper for class activities and homework. Very few of our students have the internet at home so homework is still done the old fashioned way. Limited technology in the classroom as well.

My Students
There is never a dull day in 5th grade. We have 28 students in the classroom, most just coming to the United States within the past 2 to 3 years. Some have just recently came to us because of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. There is not a day that goes by that I marvel at how strong these children are coming from situations and places that would test the strongest adult. Yes they are resilient.
The students learn English quickly and put so much effort into reading and writing English every day.
They translate to their parents to keep them informed about what is going on in the classroom and what they are learning. The cultural diversity in our classroom is inspiring as the children work together. We talk about how we have different customs and yet how much the same we all are. It's a great place to teach and I learn from the children every day.
My Project
Our students have limited resources at home especially technology so we need paper for homework and communication between school and home. In the classroom we also have limited technology. So we still need to use paper for curriculum activities and homework. And those suckers. Oh my, students love them and helps with concentration when taking tests or just calming the class down. Sticky clips will help us display all this work done on paper as well.
Homework in reading and math, science and social studies is given Monday through Thursday and at a minimum of 2 sheets of paper daily and for 28 students we are always buying more paper.
