This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a second grade classroom of children with emotional, behavioral, and learning disabilities in the South Bronx. My classroom has two computers, and the children love using them for the educational games and activities. Many of the games and programs involve printable certificates, progress reports, and student work.
A DonorsChoose proposal for a printer/copier for my second-grade Special Education class was recently funded through the generosity of many people. My school does not have the printer paper available to use in our classroom. Now that we have the means to print our achievements on the computer, we need the paper to keep it going! A large resource of paper will allow students from all the special education classes (4 in total) to take advantage of the intervention computer programs.
Computers are fabulous tools for children with learning disabilities, and many programs have special achievement certificates and progress reports to motivate students. Students create various documents, graphic organizers, and research projects on the computer, and now we need a donation of paper in order to print and share these amazing accomplishments with classmates and families!
