This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My charter high school art students are bussed from everywhere in Broward County. Many of these budding artists hail from low income households, where it may be difficult to obtain quality art supplies like watercolor paper, acrylic paint and brushes. My goal is for my students to develop fundamental art skills as they explore the visual culture that surrounds us, both in our day to day lives as consumers and in our creative pursuits as artists. Your donation of mixed media and watercolor paper will enable my students to participate to create masterpieces using water media in the art classroom. In exhibiting these masterpieces during on campus gallery shows, performances and events, my students will develop confidence and pride in their creative pursuits.
More than half of students from low‑income households
