My students need paper to create art projects and do their work. The teachers need chart paper and books. I know it isn't glamorous, but paper is important!
Imagine walking into an elementary classroom. It is buzzing with activity. Some students read on iPads, others are reading books selected from a classroom library. Some students speak to each other in English, while many others speak in Somali, Karen, Hmong or Spanish.
My students are the future of this country.
Their curiosity and diversity makes me hopeful that this world will change for the better because of them.
Our students work hard at school every day to learn English. They surprise me with the knowledge and experience they bring to the classroom. They are the joy of my life.
My Project
Each lesson begins with a teacher-led lesson. During reading, writing and math we use chart paper to support our language learners with visual representations of information. The chart paper we need will help with this!
Paper is an essential part of each lesson.
After the lesson students work in groups or individually to develop new skills. This is where the printer paper comes in! Even with iPads, we still use paper for writing, reading and math.
The construction paper and bulletin board accents help us to decorate our school to create a welcoming environment for our students and their families.
