This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Kindergarten Science teacher in the Bronx. Because the budget is small, teachers cannot make enough copies on the copy machine. There is one copier that all of us teachers share for which we pay an annual fee out of our pockets and still have to provide our own copy paper.
Since I teach four kindergarten classrooms, I have a total of 90 students. Just copying a five page weekly homework packet for all of my students adds up to 450 sheets of copy paper. This means that every week I run through one pack of paper providing homework alone. i also copy worksheets for them to use during lessons in the classroom and that would ad to another 270 sheets of paper if i only gave them 3 worksheets per week.
I would love to provide the best activity sheets for in-classroom use as well as prepare homework packets from which students will extend their knowledge from school to home. Without your help it is nearly impossible. About 20 packs of copy paper (500 sheets each pack) will supply the kindergartners with homework and in-class activity sheets for the major part of this school year.
On behalf of my exceptional kindergarteners, I thank you for your consideration.
The cost of 20 packs of Quill Recycled Copy Paper is $126, including shipping and fulfillment.
