My students need cardstocks in many colors for fun craftivities! We also need different colored paper to differentiate homework, for newsletters, announcements, and other classroom communications and activities.
We are a group of diverse, energetic, and excited learners. We learn in one of the most diverse district in the country. Within our four walls I have students that speak Burmese, Somali, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Cambodian, Turkish, Russian, and English. Even with all of these different languages, students always find a way to communicate and learn together.
Kindness, empathy, compassion, joy, and excitement are demonstrated everyday with our students.
These Kindergarteners will always amazing me with how well they treat each other and how supportive they are of one another.
My Project
These materials help students create fun projects that connects to our monthly theme. For example, in October, we learn about autumn and pumpkins. We use the card stocks to paint our own pumpkin. We also use the cardstock to sequence how a pumpkin grows. In March we read stories about Saint Patrick's Day and make shamrocks and leprechauns to display around the room.
These supplies will make a difference with student learning because they are engaged in hands-on activities that extend their learning beyond the story.
Often times students will not remember the lesson itself, but they will remember the fun things they were able to create and share.
