My Students
My students are an at risk group of 1st graders whom some have not been in a classroom since early 2020 due to Covid 19. For others, this is their first year of experiencing the in-person classroom experience. Although the students have had many obstacles of learning, they continue to prove everyday to be resilient and determined! The students learn very fast and are soaking up knowledge daily like a sponge!
Someone once said, "The quality of physical learning environment goes hand and hand with academic performance".
Our class is self contained and the students are with me the majority of the day. The students are learning to read and write. They are very curious and eager to learn. The students love to draw and play outside.
My Project
Our campus is 100% in person other than hands on activities, other assignments are on paper. Due to limited funding on our campus our paper supply is limited. I will like the opportunity to work freely with the students by creating an endless amount of classwork and workstation activities. Some other examples include but not limited to : math and litercay, handwriting practice, test taking, and homework activities.
The scotch laminating machine, cardstock and laminating pouches will be used to create anchor charts, crafts, tools and activities for the workstations, literacy centers and small groups.
Laminating the resources will ensure we can use them over and over.
