My Project
Our district is constantly giving our school less money in our budget each year to keep our school running effectively. Our site based budget includes money for teacher salaries, basic classroom supplies, sports, coaches salaries, school buses, and field trips. This coming school year we are forced to cut teachers due to the budget cuts from the district and increase our class size to at least thirty students in each middle school classroom. Many of our after school clubs only happen because teachers volunteer their time as chaperones and we will not be having any buses for field trips. Unfortunately, this also means that our students will not be getting basic supplies that can keep our classrooms operating effectively.
We need paper to make copies for student work assignments and pencils to give to our students.
We use Process Journals in both our STEAM and Math classrooms which require many photocopies. Though we could make a digital version, we have found students work better when they have a paper copy in front of them. Students constantly need pencils in class. Without a pencil, students will not be able to complete any of our work.
